Elliptic Network Graph
Each node in this correlation graph represent one of the top 100 cryptocurrencies, sorted alphabetically(clock-wise).Each link represents a correlation between source and target, shown iff the corresponding correlation value is allowed by the slider (expressed as % of correlation).
The correlation evaluation is done through the attribute and the time criteria, which can be chosen by the menu above. Time zero means that the evaluation of the correlation is done respect to the beginning of both the cryptocurrencies(time relative), while selecting the year option occurs into the evalution year-wise, and only if all the values of both cryptocurrencies are non-zero for that year. Sub-graph and node-specific information are displayed clicking on a node of interest.
Correlation Heatmap
The heatmap is a data matrix that visualizes values in the cells by the use of a color gradient. The data contained within a cell is based on the chosen correlation between the two cryptocurrencies in the connecting row and column.When a node is selected in the graph, the matrix shows the correlation values for all the cryptocurrencies in the sub-graph. Hovering the mouse on an heatmap cell produce a pop-up window where the compared cryptocurrencies names appear among with their correlation value. Finally, clicking on a cell shows charts for both cryptocurrencies time series, while the nodes are revealed on the scatterplot.
Line Charts
The line charts are the first visualization you may want if you want to explore the single cryptos, or if you want study two of them in relation. You have the possibility to generate a single line chart, or a multiple line chart. Single lines are created through the click of a single node on the Network Graph, or through the click on a single dot on the scatterplot. Multiple lines on the other hands, are generated on-click interactions for a cell in the heatmap related to a couple of two cryptocurrencies. You can look at their trend, zooming in specific time window using your mouse. You can also change the scale,from absolute to relative, based on your analysis interests. There are three charts visible at the same time: if you want to inspect other attributes of the cryptocurrencies, click on the "1/2" button to swap between the availables features. PLEASE NOTE: all the datasets present missing values, thus those values were replaced with a symbolic value equal to "0"Dimensionality Reduction Scatterplot
The scatterplot allow yourself to study the way all the cryptos get clusterized. All the non-gray dots are interactive: hovering the mouse on top of them allow to see their name. Clicking on them will open the line charts related to that coin. Using the dropdown menu, is it possible to swap from a dimensionality reduction technique to another, based on your analysis purpose.
